Audacity

    Audacity is the name of a popular open source multilingual audio editor and recorder software that is used to record and edit sounds. It is free and works on Windows, Mac OS X, GNU/Linux and other operating systems.    Audacity can be used to perform a number of audio editing and recording tasks such as making ringtones, mixing stero tracks, transferring tapes and records to computer or CD, splitting recordings into separate tracks and more. The Audacity Wiki provides indepth tutorials on how to do these types of tasks in Audacity. Vendors can also freely bundle Audacity with their products or sell or distribute copies of Audacity under the GNU  General Public License (GPL).

Simple Past Tense

SOAL DAN PEMBAHASAN

Jawaban: a
Pembahasan: I told him I had something to show to his brother last week yang memiliki arti ‘Aku memberitahunya bahwa aku punya sesuatu untuk ditunjukkan pada saudaranya minggu lalu’.
Mengapa tidak (b)?
Karena ‘has’ digunakan untuk kalimat ‘simple present tense’ yang artinya memiliki dan ‘has’ hanya digunakan untuk subjek ‘She, He, dan It’.
Jawaban (c) belum tepat karena sama dengan penjelasan sebelumnya, ‘have’ digunakan untuk kalimat ‘simple present tense’ dengan menggunakan keterangan waktu, seperti: every day, every Saturday, dan lain-lain.
Sedangkan jawaban (d) belum tepat penggunaannya pada kalimat di atas, karena ‘have had’ digunakan pada kalimat ‘simple present perfect tense’ yang dimana tense ini digunakan pada saat kegiatan yang telah selesai dilakukan atau suatu kegiatan yang terjadi di masa lampau dan masih ada keterkaitan di masa sekarang.
Pada kalimat di atas menunjukkan waktu ‘last week’ yang berarti kegiatan tersebut terjadi di masa lampau dan tidak memiliki keterkaitan hingga sekarang. maka , jawaban yang paling tepat adalah (a).

Jawaban: d
Penjelasan: I am sure I saw him two years ago. Yang memiliki arti ‘Aku yakin aku melihatnya dua tahun yang lalu’.
Mengapa jawabannya bukan (a)?, jika menggunakan ‘am seeing’ pada kalimat di atas, maka keterangan waktu yang tepat adalah ‘now’ atau ‘today’, karena ‘am seeing’ memiliki makna sedang melihatnya sekarang dan bukan dua tahun yang lalu.
Jawaban (c) ‘have been seeing’ memiliki makna telah melihatnya dari dulu hingga sekarang, sedangkan pada kalimat di atas keterangan waktu menyatakan peristiwa yang terjadi dua tahun yang lalu.
Untuk membuat kalimat ‘simple past tense’ dibutuhkan kata kerja bentuk kedua.
Kata kerja yang digunakan dalam ‘simple past tense’ disebut dengan ‘irregular verb’ atau kata kerja tidak beraturan seperti, ‘went, saw, bought, dan lain-lain’ dan ‘regular verb’ atau kata kerja beraturan seperti ‘watched, wanted, cleaned, dan lain-lain’.
Maka jawaban yang paling tepat adalah (d)
